William Partridge 1860-1946 and his wife Kate Partridge née Pitts 1868-1914. After the death of William Pitts in 1898, his children were looked after by their stepmother, Jane Pitts née Horton. A farm manager was hired to run Muckwell farm for the family. William Partridge had previously been working on his family's farm. The eldest Pitts daughter Kate fell in love with the handsome farm manager. Despite the disapproval of her stepmother, Kate married William. They moved away from Stokenham and the South Hams, living in Cornwall, and Mid-Devon. |
